What bothers us about curtain holds you find in the stores today is that they are either plastic or made from the lowest quality zinc alloy. They break and lose their luster overnight - and they look cheap even from a distance. These curtain tie backs are made from solid brass and they are made the old fashioned way. We pour molten brass into highly detailed sand cast molds - and then grind and polish the pieces by hand. The matching wall mount screws are solid steel - just like they were made a hundred years ago.
