Bruce McLean, born in 1944, studied at Glasgow School of Art and St Martin’s School of Art, London, where he challenged formalist teaching. Known for his satirical approach to art, he shifted from impermanent sculptures and performances to painting and ceramics, participating in major exhibitions like Documenta and the Venice Biennale, with his work in collections worldwide.
